Cypripedium villosum Orchid Item 320
Stitched area: 7 x 10 in. Adapted from a print in the rare book Pescatorea Iconographie des Orchidées, printed under the direction of Jean Jules Linden in 1860. Linden, director of the Royal Botanical Garden in Brussels, was instrumental in popularizing orchids. The book is from the collections of The LuEsther T. Mertz Library at The New York Botanical Garden.
